Like art, music is a very personal matter. Musical tastes are diverse and audiences are seldom aligned on what fancies their ear drums. This is also true of musicians. Most bands play music they like and when asked to describe their band, musicians generally pick a genre or a label like Rock, Country, or Jazz, to identify their musical style.
This is one unique element of the No Idea band. We are not a genre band. We are not interested in just playing the music that we like. Our vision is to appeal to the audiences that come to listen, and more important, to ensure that they have a great experience.
The name No Idea comes from a simple concept that we want our audiences to embrace. We want them to have "no idea" what we are going to play next be it Disco, Reggae, Country, Rock, or other. The only noticeable common threads should be that the music will be comprised of hits they haven't heard in a while, the songs will sound just like the originals, and they will be dancing.
Our commitment to our audiences is to ensure that they have a fun musical experience and leave our performances with great memories. Our objective is to keep them coming back and asking the question "what are they going to play next?" ……. the answer: No Idea
